car breathalyzerStumbling through the technical terms surrounding car breathalyzer and ignition interlock devices can be frustrating when you first start out, adding frustration to an already uncomfortable situation. We’ve got your back, though, and making your car breathalyzer experience easier is what we’re all about. When in doubt, trust the experts – we won’t steer you wrong!

BAC: Blood Alcohol Content or Concentration (BAC) measures the amount of alcohol in your blood. For example, if you have a BAC of 0.10% it means that one tenth of your blood is alcohol. BAC is a legal measure of alcohol intoxication and is used in car breathalyzers.

Car Breathalyzer: Car breathalyzers are devices that require you to submit a breath sample before you start your car or after the car is in motion by blowing/humming into the device.

IID:  An IID is an ignition interlock device, another term for “car breathalyzer.”

DUI/DWI/OWI:  Driving Under the Influence/Driving While Intoxicated/Operating While Intoxicated. Depending on the state, these terms all indicate a person is over the legal BAC limit and unsafe to drive his or her vehicle. It can also refer to driving while under the influence of drugs.

Rolling Retests: Car breathalyzers and ignition interlock devices require rolling retests. This means that you are required to submit a breath sample not only when the vehicle is started, but also randomly when the car is in operation. The devices give you a few minutes to safely pull over to the side of the road to submit your breath sample.

Car Breathalyzer Service Provider: Your partner in your success is only a phone call away when you have any questions or concerns about installing or operating your car breathalyzer device.

A car breathalyzer requirement can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Once you learn the ropes, you’ll be back on the road in no time – safely and full of confidence in your own sobriety.
