It is common to hear how driving is a privilege, not a right, which is why once you cross the legal line with drinking and driving, you can be denied that privilege by the court. Keep in mind that you will be removed from the program automatically for the following violations:
- Driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
- Any arrest for driving under the influence of any substance.
- Circumventing, bypassing or tampering with the ignition interlock device.
- Not participating in or completing the West Virginia DUI Safety and Treatment Program.
Even after a DUI conviction, there is a certain level of understanding how important the freedom to continue driving is. Most of the time, a DUI is the result of a poor choice, and as long as you’re compliant with the requirements of your ignition interlock program, there is no need for anyone to worry about your sobriety behind the wheel.
