New Mexico DWI Most Wanted

You are here: Home / News / New Mexico DWI Most Wanted
October 18, 2016 by Editorial Staff

New Mexico DWI Most wantedNew Mexico may have the toughest drunk driving laws in the country, but there are big reasons for running such a strict state. New Mexico DWI laws reflect its place in the top of the list for alcohol and drug problems in the U.S., making it difficult to brag about those tough laws in light of the problems causing such restrictions each year.

Even with those tough New Mexico DWI laws, people still manage to find ways to drink and drive. All convicted drunk drivers in the state are required to install and maintain an ignition interlock device for at least six months, and up to several years. Yet, those on the New Mexico DWI Most Wanted list are all guilty of breaking those laws, driving illegally and possibly even driving while intoxicated again and again.

New Mexico’s Governor has been a strong ally in the fight against DWIs for many years, increasing the presence of law enforcement on the road, supporting awareness and education campaigns and vocally speaking out against drunk driving. Under Governor Martinez’ administration, the state has seen its numbers of DWI incidents fall, while ignition interlock use is on the rise. Those New Mexico DWI Most Wanted may wish to remember that their best chance at freedom is to take on an interlock and the basic penalties for their crime. Otherwise, their evasion is just working against that freedom, especially when jail is the obvious next step.

For the rest of us who are safely driving down the road, take a moment to check out the list of New Mexico DWI Most Wanted criminals. If you see an offender, take a moment to inform law enforcement. You’ll be saving lives in the process and ensuring that the streets are safe for those who follow the law and who wouldn’t even consider drinking and driving an option.
